Bess Rosefield Ehmcke, Owner and Lead Representative with The Best of BESS, is a trusted partner to interior designers and businesses seeking commercial furniture, fabric, and lighting to fulfill their creative vision. Her unique consultative approach and a desire to provide clients with the very best she has to offer is what inspired the creation of The Best of BESS. With an eye for design and an instinct for color, Bess delivers best value solutions that are timely delivered and an accurate reflection of her clients’ quality standards.
The 18+ years of industry experience Bess has procured in both design and sales provides the foundation for her current business. She independently designed and merchandised multiple fabric and upholstery lines for over 10 years. She later served as a fabric sales representative to commercial enterprises including hospitality, restaurant, healthcare, decorative distributors, corporate, and government organizations. In addition to her commercial experience, she served as an interior design consultant for single family residences and was a featured designer in Elle Décor magazine. Her creative contributions have also been profiled in several other nationally-recognized publications including Furniture Today and Casual Living. Bess lives in Charlotte, NC and currently serves as Chair of the Steering Committee for the NC chapter of the Hospitality Industry Network (NEWH). She continues to travel throughout the Carolinas, sharing her creative passion and boundless enthusiasm to bring out the best in herself, and in others.
Holland Pulley is an Associate with The Best of BESS, providing operational, administrative, and marketing support to regional sales team members. Her responsibilities include handling client inquiries, expediting quotes and purchase orders, and managing the day-to-day workflow of the office.
Holland has a professional background in office administration, project management, and small business management in New York City and Charlotte, NC. In addition to her work at the Best of BESS, she is a passionate supporter of the Jaime Kimble Foundation for Courage, an organization dedicated to preventing domestic violence before it begins. Holland assists the Foundation with fundraising, marketing and event planning. She also serves as a liason to local domestic violence awareness clubs in Charlotte-area middle and high schools.
April Duckworth is the Charleston Sales Associate for The Best of BESS.
April has a professional background in higher education, community outreach, project management of national art and music integration programs, curriculum design, and is also a published children’s author. April has been recognized on the university level for exceptional teaching and critical thinking skills, and also has an extensive portfolio of curriculum content in which she has written and implemented into schools and enrichment programs. April is originally from the Bluegrass state of Kentucky, but has called Charleston home for five years.
April founded the first Charleston, South Carolina National Eating Disorders Association Walk, to fundraise and raise awareness for the prevention of eating disorders. April continues to support NEDA and to advocate for awareness, prevention, and treatment for individuals and families whose lives are impacted by eating disorders.
